Mystery of Bermuda triangle

Remember the series of "Unsolved Mysteries of the World" books that were popular in the classrooms of primary and secondary schools?

Loch Ness monster, wheat field circle, pyramid and curse of Pharaoh, bigfoot, alien and UFO, Shennongjia savages, human body spontaneous combustion, etc.

One more chaos than one strange power, but another one more eloquent, so that the curiosity we had nowhere to place was greatly satisfied.

One of the most mysterious is the "Bermuda Triangle" that devours countless planes and ships.

It is said that this mysterious sea area has repeatedly experienced mysterious disappearances and shipwrecks, which shocked the world.

The cargo ships, warships, submarines, planes, etc. here in countless ways have disappeared bizarrely.

Some can't even find the wreckage and corpses, as if even the people with the boat have evaporated.

Some cases are even more mysterious, saying that planes and ships that have been missing for decades have suddenly appeared, and the passengers above have not grown old at all.

It is also said that when flying over this sea area, the watches on the pilot are like traveling through time and space, a few hours slower than other places.

Letting us young, at the risk of being beaten by the teacher, is bound to find out about this mysterious phenomenon.

Regarding this "death triangle", various theories and hypotheses have been proposed to try to support and explain these mysterious phenomena.

Such as "infrasound vibration theory", "Haiti bridge theory", "natural gas hydrate theory", "pyramid magnetic field theory", "magnetic declination angle anomaly theory", etc., all have their own schools and try to justify themselves.

If you still feel that the analysis is not deep enough, move Einstein out, and re-interpret various relativity, four-dimensional space, black hole swallowing, parallel world, etc.

No matter how bad it is, you can dump the pot to the aliens and the US government, saying that it is the aliens who kidnapped our earth to experiment, or what kind of secret weapon the US emperor made on the seabed.

Although the various theories are different, they will eventually return to the same destination.

Because the endings are all the same routine, "If you want to know the future, please listen to the decomposition next time", it makes people want to lift the table in minutes.

The so-called Bermuda Triangle refers to the sea area bounded by the Bermuda Islands in the north, Puerto Rico Island in the south, and Florida State in the United States.

However, geographically, there is no such division as the "Bermuda Triangle."

Therefore, it is not a scientist or a government that gives this sea the name of the devil, but a group of writers.

Let a well-known tourist destination become a hell on earth in the erroneous rumor of the stall literature.
Edward Jones (Edward Jones) is the writer who pioneered the "Bermuda Triangle".

In 1950, he first mentioned the mysterious disappearance of an airplane near Bermuda in the Associated Press's Miami Herald, and led the accident to the sea.

This is the most talked about accident in Bermuda's mysterious phenomenon-the 19th U.S. Navy Squadron is missing.

If the 19th Squadron returns safely during the flight, the concept of the "Bermuda Triangle" will not be created.

All the articles, books, movies, and documentaries about Bermuda no longer exist.

Therefore, Jones, who for the first time linked the disappearance of the 19th Squadron with "Bermuda", is also known as the father of the "Bermuda Triangle."

In the 1960s, the disappearance of the 19th Flying Squadron became more mysterious and popularized by another writer Vincent Gaddis.

In 1964, he gave a very fascinating title to his article, "The Deadly Bermuda Triangle" (The Deadly Bermuda Triangle), which made him eye-catching.

He did not provide valid data in the text, but he seemed to have thoroughly investigated this and said, "The shipwrecks in this area are frequent, far exceeding other sea areas."

Picture: In his later book Invisible Horizons, Geddes described the mysterious events in the Bermuda Triangle in more detail.

In the more than ten years since then, various writers have followed the idea of Geddes and began to "create" freely.

The basic routine is to dig more past shipwrecks, add some personal interpretation, and finally buckle the hat of the disaster on the "Bermuda Triangle". This is another best-selling article.

So about the most critical mysterious phenomenon in Bermuda, how was the missing 19th Squadron made up?

The general course of the entire case is:

At 2 pm on December 5, 1945, there were 5 Avengers bombers (14 pilots) in the 19th Squadron of the US Navy.

Under the leadership of captain Charles Taylor, he plans to fly east from Florida to the Bahamas, and then return to the base to prepare for flight training.

However, just two hours after they flew out, they lost their way. Instead of returning to the base as originally planned, they flew deep into the Atlantic Ocean.

Finally, these five fighter jets also fell into the sea due to exhaustion of fuel.

Then the US military sent a large number of aircraft and ships to conduct rescue searches.

But the result was even more tragic. Not only did the search and rescue not succeed, one of the PBM-5 seaplanes was still involved in the rescue mission, and none of the 13 crew members survived.

On the official investigation results of this matter, it is believed that Captain Taylor should be mainly responsible for this accident.

Although Taylor has nearly 2,000 hours of flying time, he is not an excellent pilot, he is stubborn and is known for his sloppyness.

During World War II, he had twice lost his plane and parachuted on the sea Trek.

In this flight training, Taylor actually forgot to bring basic navigation and watches.

Figure: The drawing board used by pilots in the 1940s to fly at sea, marking the route by air speed and air volume.

After discovering Taylor's Trek, the base asked him to give the command to others.

But Taylor, who was stunned and used it himself, would rather believe his years of flying experience, reject the command center's proposal, and continue to lead the team in the wrong direction.

Communication records show that at least two student pilots noticed that Taylor's judgment was wrong and requested a change of course.

But Taylor was still going on his own, flying 13 students to the abyss of death.
During the flight, the weather conditions started to get worse.

Therefore, the rescue aircraft dispatched later also carried out search and rescue operations in bad weather, and the risk factor was greatly increased.

The rescue aircraft crash has a more important reason.

David White, a former flight instructor at the naval base, said that statistics have confirmed that the PBM-5 seaplane participating in the rescue is a model that has frequently experienced oil and gas leaks in history and often exploded due to small sparks. Known as "the fuel tank in flight".

A cruise ship passing by in the sea at the time said that it had seen explosions and flashes over the night, and a long oil belt was dragging on the sea.

So in summary, the tragedy of the 19th Squadron and the search and rescue aircraft can only be attributed to man-made accidents, not supernatural events.

A stubborn captain of Trek, with 13 inexperienced students flying in bad weather, the death is almost inevitable.

The matter had been officially decided, but Taylor ’s relatives were extremely dissatisfied with the results of such an investigation, and appealed to the senior US navy several times.

Therefore, the authorities can only meet the requirements of Taylor's relatives, blaming the bad weather and "unknown factors."

It is this "unknown factor" that has inspired conspiracy theorists' associations.

After they added layers of oil and vinegar and deliberately ignored the facts, they eventually became an inexplicable mystery intertwined with various supernatural forces.

Picture: "Cyclops"

After this, the disappearance of the "Cyclops" decades ago was dug out of the sleeping history and reinterpreted.

On February 22, 1918, the "Cyclops" loaded with cargo set sail from Salvador, Brazil, to Baltimore (via the Bermuda Triangle).

However, during the voyage, he completely lost contact with the outside world and disappeared.

At first, the US military thought the ship was sunk by Germany, but no records were found in the German archives after the war.

Therefore, the disappearance of the "Cyclops" was also cast a mysterious veil.

After the 19th squadron was on fire, the good guys also attributed the disappearance of the Cyclops to the mysterious power of the Bermuda Triangle.

However, officials believe that the disappearance of the Cyclops can be explained more scientifically from her two sister ships.

The "Neuros" and "Plotis", which have almost the same structure as the "Cyclops", although they spent the first World War peacefully, they all sank due to structural defects during World War II.

In view of the serious overload of the "Cyclops" at that time, the cause of the accident became gradually clear.

Picture: Belize (Charles ·  Berlitz)

Speaking of the big book "Decrypting the Bermuda Triangle" that we read as a child, it actually originated from Charles Berlitz, another writer with more "ideas".
He saw the business opportunity and published the book "The Bermuda Triangle" in 1974, which sold 5 million copies in one fell swoop, and carried forward the concept of "Bermuda Triangle".

This book not only collects many official or unofficial news, but also adds a variety of reasonable interpretations and theories of the mysterious phenomenon in the Bermuda Triangle.

Let the "Bermuda Triangle", which did not exist, become a mysterious area known to the United States at that time.

However, in the second year of this best-selling book, another rumor book dedicated to refuting Belize was born.

Photo: "The Bermuda Triangle Mystery-Solved"

Larry Kusch collected the truth of more than 50 cases mentioned by the "Bermuda writers" and published the book "The Bermuda Triangle Mystery-Solved" , Detailed the investigation results of each accident.

Larry Kush: The master's degree is in library management. After graduation, he worked in the Arizona State Library and has strong search and investigation capabilities. In addition, he is also an experienced pilot. Since he was in his twenties, he has worked as a commercial pilot, flight instructor, flight engineer, etc., with a cumulative flight time of several thousand hours.

In search of the truth, he consulted relevant reports of the US Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, insurance companies, etc., newspaper reports at the time of the accident, and even conducted letters, phone calls, or face-to-face interviews with relevant personnel.

In the end, he came to the conclusion that the US Coast Guard and many other authoritative organizations considered it as the conclusion of the Bermuda Triangle.

His research shows that the number of plane and ship crashes in the Bermuda Triangle is not as prominent as in other sea areas.

In fact, this problem can be explained by a very simple fact. If the mysterious shipwrecks and air crashes happen frequently in the Bermuda Triangle, the marine insurance company should be the most feared.

Picture: Lloyds Insurance Company

But insurance companies do not consider the Bermuda Triangle to be a particularly dangerous sea area, nor do they charge higher insurance fees than ordinary areas.

In 1975, Lloyds Insurance Company, which monopolized marine insurance, stated the following:

“According to Lloyd ’s records, since 1955, 428 vessels have been reported missing worldwide, and you may be interested to know that our intelligence services have failed to find any evidence to support the Bermuda Triangle more missing than elsewhere The case statement. The US Coast Guard ’s computer record of the Atlantic accident dates back to 1958, and the results also support this conclusion. "

When many accidents occurred, people did not think there was a mystery, but after many years of reprocessing, it began to be mysterious.

More importantly, many writers did not do their own investigation and research at that time, but just rewritten the previous articles, which led to increasing deviations from the facts.

Some writers even fabricated various details of many accidents for the effect of the article.

There are also accidents that are clearly not in the area and are also considered to be Bermuda Triangles.

However, after the publication of Kush's rumors book, Belize, the author of the previous book "Bermuda Triangle", spread rumors everywhere, claiming that a pyramid was found on the bottom of Bermuda.

But Kush immediately challenged Belize, asking Belize to provide evidence of the underwater pyramid, and bet him 10,000 dollars.

But a week before the challenge deadline, Belize only came out and announced that he did not want to accept Kush's challenge, admitting that he was just talking.
